PD ears...

well as you might have expected... the good news just wasn't to be. we noticed that pd continue to shake her head and scratch at her ears much more than normal. we are on a regular schedule for the cleaning of the digs ears. but, pd ears seem to get dirtier by the day. so... off to the vets we go. the test showed that she has a yeast infection in both ears. she will need medicine drops in her ears twice a day for two weeks, then back to the vet for a re-look. poor little pd. she never likes going to the vet. she shakes and cries the entire trip. but, once we got back home, first round of medicine drops in her ears, she was back with her friends. all the other dogs ran over to her and had to sniff at her to make sure i brought her back alright. so... we will see how things go for the next couple of weeks.

Mr. Rocco...

Mr. Rocco
well, it's about time to get back to the the introductions...
Mr. Rocco is the oldest beagle mix that we have. We got him from the local shelter and he is the newest of the JBAD beagles.  As the story goes, Mr. Rocco was brought in to the local shelter with his best friend because the family that had them were unable to take care of them any more. I was visiting the shelter one day and noticed him in the pen huddled in the corner with his head down. I stopped and tried to get him to come over to me but no luck. I asked the shelter staff what was his story? They told me that he had been brought in with his friend and that the other dog had gotten sick and didn't make it. Mr. Rocco was clearly mourning for his friend.
All goes well on the JBAD crew front. Keeping our fingers crossed that nothing new pops up needing vet treatments. The entire east coast was hit with days of rain. We needed the rain but getting several inches in just a day was a little to much. So... The dogs go out and come back in tracking mud, mud on their noses', and wet from head to tail. The sun came back out today and the drying out starts with all the catch up work awaiting us. Rocco runs to the back door to go out and if he sees that it is raining he puts on the breaks and runs back to his pen. The rain seemed to help with the alergies. Poor little Sassy Doo eyes run really bad when the pollen count is high. We noticed that she was much better after the few days of rain. The thunder and lightning didn't help with MissDaisy and Beamers fears. Both made it through just fine. Well that's about it for now. Back to the catch up chores...
