Rainbow Bridge...
"Rainbow Bridge"
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food, water, and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who are maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who loved them on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches!
The ears are up!
The eyes are staring!
And this one suddenly runs from the group.
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take them in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusted pet.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together,
Never again to be separated.

Sadie Girl...
"Sadie Girl"
It was time for SG to go for her yearly checkup and update on her shots and meds. The vet she normally sees was not in the office today. We got to meet a new vet and SG enjoyed meeting a new friend. SG is always so good when it comes to listening. She jumped up on the scales when asked. She has lost a little weight since last year. Not a bad thing since we are feeding her a weight controlled food. Her temp was normal and her blood test results all came back negative. We ordered her meds that will be delivered by mail in a few days. It took about a hour, then we were on our way. Keeping our fingers crossed that all continues going well for Sadie Girl.
Scarlett...
"Scarlett"
Scarlett's annual vet visit came due. All went very well. She got her annual checkup. She got her update on an annual shot. Her blood work came back with no issues. We were in and out of the vet in about 30 minutes. She always enjoys a ride in the truck. She looked out the window the entire time.
Everyone was so glad to see Scarlett back. After all the welcome back smelling, everyone was off and running in the back yard.
PD...
"Puppa Dog"
Time for the 6 month vet visit.
PD was as nervous as ever about taking her trip to the vet. She gets herself so worked up. The good news, she got her blood work updated and all looks good. Re-fills updated on all of her meds for the next six months.
The bad news, she has a tooth that looks like it is going to have to come out.
We got the written estimate for the work and are now waiting to have her scheduled for after the holidays. So far so good. The tooth doesn't seem to be bothering her. Her eating continues at the fast and more more more beagle pace.
Keeping a close eye on things with our little baby puppa dog.
Buster...
"Buster"
Buster went for his yearly checkup.
He is always up for an adventure.
He pulled me all the way to the truck. Jumping in and ready to go. The nose prints on the windshield shows how he is up for a ride to see whats out in the world.
He always does real good at the vet. He enjoys seeing everyone and the snacks they give out makes things just that much better.
Everything looks good at the checkup. We refilled his yearly meds and out the door we went.
As always, keeping our fingers crossed for more good health.
Back home and in the pen, it's been a busy morning so off to sleep he goes.
Mr. Rocco...
"Mr. Rocco"
An Update on Mr. Rocco.
You could tell he knew something was up.
It was so hard not being able to let him have his morning snacks. He looked at me as to say
"Don't forget about me. Where are my snacks?"
He was only allowed water after 10pm the night before.
He did take a quick drink of water and we were on our way to the vet office early.
I dropped him off around 8:00am that morning with that sick feeling in my stomach that i get when leaving any of our pets at the vet.
On the ride home i always try hard to think back on all the joy each of our pets have brought to us. he positive thinking seems to help with the worrying.
He went into surgery and the mass on his left leg and the mass in his mouth were removed. Several of his teeth had to be removed to get to all of the mass in his mouth.
The called and said everything went well. The feel they got evertyhing out and they would bi-op a sample.
Rocco was so out of it that the vet suggested he stay the night and i could come and get him the next day. The next 24 hours seem to drag on forever. I called and was able to go get him around 11am.
When they brought him from the back, you could see he was still in medicine land.
He was glad to se me and was pulling to get out of the door.
At home he went straight to his bed and went to sleep.
The next couple of days were very rough. The medicine was wearing off and he would not eat or drink.
We were so worried that we took him back to the vet on day 3. They gave him a pain shot and put on a pain patch which he wore for 4 days.
He remained out of it for the rest of the day and that night.
The next moring he woke up and started drinking and eat soft food.
We put his medicine in the sort food and he ate it with no problems.
Today marks the two week mark since his surgery. He continues improving everyday.
He is still not 100 percent. But, he is back to most of his regular routine taking it slower than normal.
He loves getting his soft canned food. For now, we will just keep with that for a couple more weeks.
Rocco, our oldest JBAD is home and we are all so happy that he is with us.
Mr. Rocco...
"Mr. Rocco"
his turn for the next vet visit.
He is such a good dog.
He is our "old man" of the JBAD Beagles.
Being a shelter dog, we will never be sure about just how old he really is.
I tell him let's go and he gets nervous about having to do something different.
He calmed down during the ride in the truck and started looking out the window
as the miles went by.
Once inside the vet office he got his annual exam.
While checking his teeth, that are due for a cleaning, the vet noticed a lump next to one of his teeth. There is some concern about this mass.
The vet recommends a bi-opsy to determine what the mass is and a next course of action.
We have scheduled Rocco for the bi-opsy and await that day to take him in so that we can get the results back.
Rocco laid down on the truck seat and fell asleep on the ride back home.
I woke him up once we got home
and he was so excited to get back
with all of his friends.
Miss Daisy and Sassy Doo...
"Miss Daisy and Sassy Doo"
went on their latest vet visit together.
Miss Daisy was very happy and pleased with me that her best friend Sassy Doo was with her.
Their annual checkup and blood work were due.
Everything went well with no major issues on this visit.
The blood work came back and the vet called with good results.
Keeping our fingers crossed for many more good result visits
PD...
"PD"
Yep... that's our PD.
the same look i get when i tell her it's time to go to the vet.
Time for some more updates on her shots.
The Vet took blood work for her 6 month test.
Good news, all came back normal and PD is good to go until her next visit in Nov.
Got re-fills on all of her medications and off we go.
She calmed down and slept all of the way back home.
Luke...
"Luke"
Luke continues improving each and every day. He had his stitches removed and his hair is growing back in slowly. He still is not back to his old rotten self yet. But, we can see that he gets closer every day. We are so glad that this big part of his life is now past us.
For now, It's back to
"Just Being a Dog"
Luke...
"Luke"
A lot has been going on in Luke's world the past two week.
It all started with an annual visit to the vet. We were hoping that all would go well with his blood work and to get re-fills on his medications. Each time he has a vet appointment they will remeasure the lump (mass) on his right back shoulder to ensure it's not growing.
Well...
the mass has grown since his last vet visit.
After discussing our options with the vet, we were referred to a local surgeon specialist. We set up an appointment to have him take a look at Luke. The surgeon was very optimistic that he could remove it. Luke was scheduled for the removal surgery two days later. We brought Luke back and dropped him off at 7am that morning. He was first on the days schedule. After a long day of waiting, at 4pm we were updated that Luke was doing fine and came through the surgery very well. Luke had to stay over night and the next day we called at 7:30am for an update. The surgeon had already checked out Luke that morning and he was doing well enough to be able to come home.
I arrived at the hospital at 10:00am to pick up Luke. He has an 8" scar with several stitches He was still a little out of it from the medication, being real still and tail down. I loaded Luke up in the truck and away we went.
Luke is very sore and has been sleeping on the bed all day. Almost time for his next round of medication.
So far... So good...
Sadie Girl...
"Sadie Girl"
I remember taking this picture as if it were just a yr. ago. When i noticed the date in the pic, i couldn't believe it has been over 7 yrs. ago.
SG had her yearly vet visit. All went well. She got her nails clipped, updated her shots, re-fill on her meds.
She always enjoys the ride in the truck. But, nothing like getting back home with all of her dog friends and jumping in her bed with the blankets on a cold day.
Scarlett...
"Scarlett"
Just another quick trip to the vets for Scarlett. Heart worm test and year supply of meds.
All the tests came back normal.
It happen again, someone a the vets asked what kind of dog she was and said "she is beautiful".
Scarlett looked back at me, and i could see her signature happy face smile.
so i took "beautiful" back home and she jumped right back in being her "tom boy" self...
Buster...
"Buster"
Buster on his way to the vet's office. He just loves all of the attention. His day to ride in the truck and a early morning road trip. He did great. He sat in the front seat looking at all of the new stuff out of the window. At the vet he got updated on all of his shots, refilled his medicine, weight, and a yearly check up. As you can see in the pic, he laid down and fell asleep on the way home.
