PD Vet follow-up...

Took PD back to the vet on Thursday with an empty stomach for her x-rays. The 3 x-rays came back "Negative" with nothing broken or out of place. The vet seems to think after the exam that she has a possible torn ligament on the knee joint. Even after sedation, PD let out a yelp when the vet moved the joint to see if it was the ligament. The vet put her on pain meds and meds for arthritis relief. Got her back home and we will see how she does for a couple more weeks. If no improvement, possible surgery to fix the ligament.
For now, rest, meds and no running for PD...

PD...Vet visit.

Well today was vet day for PD. She has a limp in her right back leg. She doesn't want to put any weight on that leg. We usually wait a couple of weeks with her due to the fact she has a very low tolerance to any kind of pain. With our waiting over and the vet scheduled today was the day. The vet did the exam and of coarse PD was on an adrenal high because she doesn't like going. She was walking and putting weight on the leg. You know, just the opposite of what I was telling the vet. But when she walked the vet saw the little hesitation on putting pressure on the leg. The vet suggested X-ray. To give her the sedative she would have to have an empty stomach. So we rescheduled for Thursday morning. Got PD back home and the limping started again. So we will see what Thursday brings.

Luke...

Or should we say Lukeeee? This seems to be the name we all call him. "Little Lukeeee" comes by his name in size. Low to the ground with short legs, the "little" part fits him well. We first noticed Luke by way of the local news paper. The local shelter was running a weekly ad for adoptions and there he was. Lukes picture gave him a look as if he was smiling for the camera. We would later learn that the way Luke held one side of his mouth made him look like he was smiling. I will try hard to get and post a picture with him doing this. We both just knew that this smiling dog would have no trouble getting adopted. Well as luck would have it, i guess a lot of people may have thought the same thing. One week, two weeks and a third week went by and to our surprise there was Luke and his smile back in the paper. No one had adopted him.
