Sassy Doo came to us by way of the local animal shelter. She is a small black, brown and white beagle mix. She is by far the smallest of all our dogs. But what she doesn't have in size, she sure makes up with her "I'm in charge" attitude. Her name fits her very well as can be seen in her picture with her one ear flipped. She has no fear of the much bigger dogs. She will bark at the other dogs and go after them when they bump into her. She shares the biggest pen with her best friend "Miss Daisy". Most of the time they sleep together sharing the same set of blankets. Got to admit, it works great on these cold winter nights. She was once the fastest of all of the dogs. Her legs moving so fast under that little body was nothing but speedy. But like us all, she has slowed with age and still tries hard to be the first one to the back fence. She has a great appetite. Not sure where all the food she eats is going but with her energy she must burn off most of it. She hates her weekly ear cleaning day. She does sit and tolerate it most of the time. Her eyes water from time to time depending on the seasons and allergies in the air. Her favorite thing to do is try and get miss daisy to run so she can chase her. Around and around they go, ducking in and out. Running as hard as both of them can run. Grass flying up in the air and not long before others join in on the chase. It's usually all over in just a few minutes when miss daisy will sit down as to say "that's it"... After a few barks, they both are back with the nose to the ground and checking out anything that just smells different. "Our Little Sassy Doo"... |
